ENGINE PERFORMANCE
Our goal is to provide 'Real World' Performance Upgrades for your 2.5RS/TS, which will allow you to increase performance up to and over a WRX, using your normally aspirated engine as a base.
The upgrades run on pump gas (93 Octane) and use the OEM ECU and/or a Piggyback ECU.
Our upgrades are designed as an alternative to turbo charging the 2.5L engine, or you can add a turbo kit for that BIG POWER you are seeking.
Also, the power upgrades in this section can be used on your new Legacy, Legacy Outbacks, Foresters and and Baja 2.5L engines. Some parts are model specific and others require some fabrication.

HOT STREET-Race CAMS: SOHC .410 and .445 lift
For Non-Turbo and Turbo Applications
Power of Turbo Charging, with the Reliability of a Non-Turbo!
.410 lift Hot Street Cams are designed specifically for street cars, which are naturally aspirated. We have designed the cams for 'real world' street application, using the factory ECU and OEM intake and exhaust. The camshafts are designed to provide a great idle and increase the overall performance of the engine.
Power over the entire r.p.m. range is greatly improved. You can see gains in HP of about +20HP at redline (6500 RPM), on a stock engine. Even more is possible when performance intake, exhaust system and engine management are added.
.445 lift 'Hottest' Billet Street-Race Cams are designed for naturally aspirated and turbo charged applications. The .445 cams are new 'Billet' cams, not regrinds. They provide intense mid and high range torque, with a good idle and awesome performance. Engine Management, FPR and increased injector size are required.
- Power will begin at about 3200rpms and continue to redline (6500 RPM).
- You can see gains in HP of about 30+HP on a stock engine with engine management.
- When used with a performance intake, header, performance cat, and cat back system, you will see gains in HP of about 60+HP!
- If you add our performance heads, you will see gains in HP of about 80+HP!!

Hot Big Valve Cylinder Heads

Providing over 40 HP+ depending on your application. The hot cylinder heads increase air flow for stunning performance. The Hot Cylinder Heads receive competition porting, polishing and multi-angle valve job, for maximum performance.
A graduated port finish maintains boundary turbulence for maximum fuel suspension while allowing maximum laminar velocities at the valve seat at all lifts. A properly shaped valve seat/port juncture in conjunction with proper combustion chamber modifications, help ensure maximum volumetric efficiency (cylinder filling). This will show dramatic flow increases at all lifts. Midrange and bottom end power will show serious gains and when coupled with complimentary intake modifications, a large top end increase will also be realized.
Pricing includes the following (using customer supplied cylinder heads):
1. Port refinishing and bowl contouring.
2. Custom 5-angle valve seat machining. Angles are chosen to match the specific porting.
3. Hand blending of the port/valve seat juncture.
4. Combustion chamber cleaning.
5. Milling of the cylinder head (skim depth).
6. Valve resurfacing using the center-less method which also measures the stem and head run-outs to 0.0004. Valves are replaced if this run-out is exceeded.

TURBO KITS
Impreza 1993-2001 AVO 2.5 Turbo kit - Stage1, Stage2, Stage3
The Stage 1 Turbo kit includes the Perfect Power computer for Piggyback engine management. This is a high quality factory kit that surpasses all the home made kits available till now. AVO has been designing turbo charger kits for over 30 years and the quality and attention to detail shows in this kit. The kit includes a Garrett water cooled ball bearing turbo, top mount bar and plate intercooler, blow off valve, stainless steel header, stainless steel up pipe, stainless steel downpipe with a high flow catalytic converter, pre-programmed engine management electronics, stainless braided oil lines, power air filter and intake pipe, high quality hoses and instructions. The hood scoop ducting shown in the picture is not included in the kit.
The kit will work with your cat-back exhaust or the stock pieces. The kit has had extensive dyno tuning to ensure drivability in all conditions, including Hot and cold weather testing.
On the dyno the kit produced 212 at the wheels at the recommend 6 PSI of boost. This puts it in the 265 HP range at the engine. About 100 horsepower over stock. This makes the car very fast and considerably faster than a WRX as it has more horsepower and is a lighter car.
The Stage2 Turbo kit adds a STi Short block, with STi pistons, rods and crankshaft. Using this block will allow the 6psi recommended for the Stage1 Turbo kit to be increased up to 18psi, to see about 400hp for an insane power increase! Note: some fabrication is required for fitment of the tmic, and extra modifications are required when tuning the boost up above 6psi, including upgrades to injectors and fuel system.
The Stage3 Turbo kit adds our .445 Hot SOHC Cams for intense mid and high range torque. Using the .445 cams will add over +60HP to the mix and make an insane power increase! Note: custom tuning is required and additional upgrades to support the increased power.
Kit may be adapted to 2002+ 2.5L cars, with additional fabrication.
